Thomas Wong is a distinguished figure in the Hong Kong and China equity markets, with 25 years of experience spanning equity research, sales, and investment management. As the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Optimas Capital, he leads the firm’s investment strategy and portfolio management.

Throughout his career, Thomas has held senior leadership roles at top-tier financial institutions, including Head of HK/China Research & Sales at Credit Suisse and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, as well as Head of Regional Oil & Gas Research at UBS. His buyside experience includes serving as a Portfolio Manager at Och-Ziff from 2008 to 2009.

Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the London Business School.

Stanley Wong is the Co-Founder and Head of Capital Markets at Optimas Capital, bringing 25 years of experience across equity sales, investment banking, and private equity investments. He is responsible for leading the firm’s capital markets strategy and execution.

Prior to co-founding Optimas, Stanley served as Head of Asia Ex-Japan Equity Distribution at Nomura from 2013, and previously as Head of Greater China Equity Sales at Merrill Lynch starting in 2009. Under his leadership, the team was ranked #1 in HK/China equity sales by Institutional Investor for three consecutive years. Earlier in his career, Stanley held roles in equity sales and research at Citigroup Global Markets and Credit Suisse First Boston, earning top rankings from Asia Money in 2007 and 2008.

Throughout his investment banking career, Stanley has consistently led and executed primary and secondary equity capital market transactions across Hong Kong and China.

Max Lu brings over 20 years of experience in trading and operations across leading investment firms and global banks. As Chief Operating Officer at Optimas Capital, he oversees the firm’s operational strategy and infrastructure. Prior to this role, Max served as Head of Trading at Optimas, where he was instrumental in developing and executing
the firm’s trading framework.

Before joining Optimas, Max was Co-Team Leader of the China-focused sales trading team at Credit Suisse, managing key institutional relationships across Greater China. He also held roles in cash and derivatives sales trading at UBS.

Max holds a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Edinburgh.

Yongzhi serves as the Chief Investment Officer of the Private Equity Fund, bringing over 24 years of experience of M&A and corporate finance. Prior to joining Optimas Capital, he held senior leadership roles at top-tier investment banks, including Managing Director and Asia Head of the Natural Resources Group at Deutsche Bank, and Managing Director and China Head of M&A at Goldman Sachs.

Earlier in his career, he held key management positions in the energy sector, including Senior Director of M&A, Assistant CFO, and Joint Company Secretary at CNOOC Ltd.

Yongzhi holds an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, a Master’s degree in Energy Management and Economics from the Mattei School in Milan, Italy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from China University of Political Science and Law.

Raymond specializes in the Consumer sector, bringing 18 years of equity research experience with a focus on Hong Kong and China markets. Prior to joining Optimas Capital, he led the Greater China Consumer Research Team at Credit Suisse from 2016 to 2017. He also held senior research roles covering the Consumer sector at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns.

Raymond holds a Master’s degree in Finance from City University of Hong Kong.

Evan brings 18 years of equity research experience with a specialization in the Internet sector, focusing on Hong Kong and China markets. Prior to joining Optimas Capital, he served as Head of Hong Kong/China Internet Research at Credit Suisse, where he led a team ranked #1 by Institutional Investor in both 2014 and 2015. Before that, he was an Internet Analyst at J.P. Morgan, actively involved in the IPOs of 13 leading China TMT companies, including Alibaba, Baidu, JD.com, NetEase, Ctrip, Weibo, VIP and etc.

Evan holds an MBA from Columbia Business School. Earlier in his career, he spent five years at Oracle as a Lead Project Manager, gaining valuable experience in enterprise technology and project execution.

Ronald Cheung is a seasoned expert in Greater China equity markets, with over 24 years of front-line experience in equity sales, strategy, and client coverage. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles at top-tier global investment banks, where he consistently drove equity business growth across Hong Kong, China, and regional markets.

At Credit Suisse, Ronald led all Hong Kong-based equity sales, overseeing both regional and China-focused initiatives, including the firm’s onshore platform, Credit Suisse Founders. Prior to that, he was Head of Hong Kong and China Equity Sales at UBS, managing a team of over 15 professionals across Hong Kong and UBS Securities in Shanghai. In both roles, he was instrumental in shaping equity sales strategies and deepening institutional client engagement across the HK/China and A-share markets.

Earlier in his career, Ronald worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions division at Merrill Lynch in New York. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Pennsylvania, in the Huntsman International Studies and Business program, double majoring in Business (Finance and Accounting concentrations in the Wharton School of Business) and International Studies. He is also a CFA Charter holder.

Sumit Choudhary is a Partner and Portfolio Manager for the Optimas South Asia Fund, bringing over two decades of investment experience across India and regional markets. Prior to joining Optimas, Sumit spent seven years at Och-Ziff Capital in Hong Kong, where he focused on a broad spectrum of opportunities including Indian and ASEAN equities, credit investments, and Asia-Pacific private equity.

He was also a founding team member at Zaaba Capital in Hong Kong, where he specialized in India and ASEAN market strategies. Earlier in his career, Sumit gained deep exposure to sell-side research and corporate finance through roles such as Head of Emerging Companies Research at Standard Chartered India, investment banking analyst at Citigroup India, and project finance team member at ICICI Bank.

Sumit is a Chartered Accountant, having qualified in 2002 with a national-level rank, and completed a three-year accounting training program with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
